The web site provides peer reviewed articles by scientists, science educators, and science students on issues related to six bioscience content areas: environment, biodiversity, genomics, biotechnology, evolution, and science policy. is owned and operated by the American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS), a scientific association dedicated to advancing biological research and education for the welfare of society.
This site provides data on taxa of the macrofungal, largely ectomycorrhizal genus Amanita, the saprobic genus Limacella, and the family Amanitaceae (Agaricales, Basidiomycetes, Fungi) of which these genera are the only known members.

ANTHOS is a program developed to display information about the biodiversity of plants in Spain online. The geographical scope of the project is the Iberian Peninsula, the Balearic Islands and the Canarian Islands as a representation of biogeographic units so as to study the distribution of one or more taxa throughout national and surrounding areas.
The Atlas provides detailed information on 105 species or subspecies of wild Guatemalan plants that are related to crops, including their description, distribution, diversity and conservation status. The Biota of North America Program (BONAP) maintains relatively complete phytogeographic and related botanical databases for all free-living vascular plants in North America (north of Mexico). This database began life as a repository of information for projects on New Zealand weeds, and wetland plants. It holds a list of all native and all naturalised higher plant species. Most effort to date has been on entering data on the naturalised flora and this information is updated from time to time. The ecological trait data covers world and local distributional data, morphological, reproduction, and other attributes that influence species' environmental responses, and interactions with other plants and animals. Attributes relevant to weed management such as response to damage, reproduction capacity, seed longevity, and weed status elsewhere are included. The database does not capture information on weed control methods. Data are derived from publications and databases on the the New Zealand Floras and many other publications.

Florabank1 is a database that contains distributional data on the wild flora (indigenous species, archeophytes and naturalised aliens) of Flanders and the Brussels Capital Region. It holds about 3 million records of vascular plants, dating from 1800 till present.
This online flora provides access to all published volumes of the Flore d’Afrique Centrale. It covers about 6,000 vascular plant taxa from the Democratic Republic Congo, Rwanda and Burundi. The Flore d’Afrique Centrale has been published since 1948 and has been digitised from the paper volumes. Errors produced by the digitisation have been corrected, but apart from a few exceptions the text in the online version is identical to the original version.
The Global Flora is a new international serial for botanical taxonomy, to provide accepted species-level classifications for all vascular plant families. The serial has three series: (A) Angiosperms (following APG IV, 2016); (B) Lycopods, Ferns and Gymnosperms (classification following Christenhusz et al., 2017); and (C) special editions. The first two series will only treat monophyletic taxa on a global scale (e.g. family, subfamily, tribe, genus or section). The special editions series aims to make significant contributions to the body of plant systematic knowledge and typically will be of a global botanical scope.

Legumes of the World Online (LOWO) advances the knowledge and understanding of the approximately 750 genera of the legume family. LOWO is based upon the book “Legumes of the World” which is transformed here into a web resource offering expanded and updated information about legume genera. The Legume Research Team at RBG Kew manages and updates LOWO through collaboration with an international community of legume systematic botanists. Users of LOWO can browse and search for information about legume genera through the traditional subfamily-tribe-genus hierarchy or within a modern phylogeny-based classification.

An intensive inventory of the macrofungi (i.e., mushrooms, boletes, puffballs, bracket fungi, etc.) of Costa Rica began to document the diversity of Neotropical macrofungi to further our understanding of their biology and to include them in forest management plans and conservation activities. The information has added significantly to our knowledge of Neotropical mycology and is available for subsequent studies on the ecology and systematics of macrofungi by the collaborators and the rest of the mycological community.

The National Wetland Plant List (NWPL) represents a collaborative effort between four Federal agencies, under the administrative responsibilities of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, to update and administer the national list. In a several-year effort, the NWPL was updated for nomenclature, taxonomy, and wetland ratings for 8,154 species across the United States and territories. The wetland ratings represent the frequency of occurrence of a plant species in a wetland and are used in direct support of the Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, the Swampbuster provisions under the Farm Bill, and the National Wetland Inventory Program.

The web pages about Costa Rican species are electronic publications that provide basic information on the species of different groups of organisms found in Costa Rica. The scientific information is presented in a simple technical language. The Tree of Life Web Project is a collection of information about biodiversity. Its goal is to contain a page with pictures, text, and other information for every species and for each group of organisms, living or extinct. Connections between Tree of Life web pages follow phylogenetic branching patterns between groups of organisms, so visitors can browse the hierarchy of life and learn about phylogeny and evolution as well as the characteristics of individual groups.
